Active Learning Economic Cartoon Design Competition 2023

Our school students, Tang Yuet Chi from Class 5B, Poon Man Yan and Yeung San Hei Class 5C participated in the "Active Learning Economic Cartoon Design Competition 2023" organized by the Hong Kong Economic Education Association and were presented with the second runner-up, third runner-up, and merit awards respectively.

2023 Hong Kong Outstanding Youth Election
6C Lui Lok Yi stood out in the "2023 Hong Kong Outstanding Youth Election" and was selected as one of the twenty "2023 Hong Kong Outstanding Youth". This election aims to recognize and commend outstanding young people and establish social models by acknowledging their efforts.
 
National Security Education Learning Circle
Our teachers were invited by the Moral, Civic and National Education Section of the Education Bureau to organize the "National Security Education Learning Circle". Firstly, Mr. So Chi Fung conducted an open class on "Promoting National Security Education in Mathematics: Understanding the Correct Attitude Towards the National Flag through Drawing". Then, Ms. Ely Lee, the Coordinator of Civic Education, shared effective implementation strategies on the topic of "Making Use of School Advantages to Promote National Education". Attendees of the event included Mr. Leung Wai Kit, the Chief Curriculum Development Officer of Moral, Civic and National Education of the Education Bureau, retired principal Mr. Lam Yat Fung from Shun Tak Fraternal Association Leung Kau Kui College, our Principal Chan Nga Lai, Vice-Principal Ho Lai Ping, Mathematics Department Head Mr. Chow Kin Shuen and Mr. Fung Siu Man, Physics Department Head Mr. Lee Ka Fai, and Computer Science teacher Mr. Chan Ho Kai, as well as other secondary school teachers.

2022-2023 'Speak Up': Secondary School Debate Activities
Our school's Debate Team students, Chick Tsz Him from Class 2A, Lam Kai Bong from Class 2B, Liu Yat Shu and Fung Sze Yu from Class 3B, participated in the "2022-2023 'Speak Up': Secondary School Debate Competition Workshop" and the "2022-2023 'Speak Up': Secondary School Debate Competition". They emerged victorious in the competition, and were presented with the "Best Group Cooperation Award" and the "Best Questioning Award".

Charity Flag Day 'Gold Flag Fundraising' Event
Our school's Civic Education Team and Parent-Teacher Association co-organized the "Charity Flag Day 'Gold Flag Fundraising' Event" and were presented with the "Outstanding Fundraising Award" by the organizing committee. Ms. Ely Lee, the Coordinator of Civic Education, led students Huen Wing Hang Jessie from Class 1C and Su Chin Ngai from Class 4A to attend the award ceremony, and Huen Wing Hang Jessie was presented with the first runner-up "Individual Outstanding Performance Award".

Life Education
During the Life Education class, our school arranged and invited external organizations and guests to hold diversified learning activities for students of different levels, including: progress review and effectiveness of the "Self-Management Handbook" for Form 1 and Form 2 students, health education promotion workshops for Form 3 and Form 4 students, the "Create Future" youth entrepreneurship experience program workshop, and the "Leadership and Character Education Series" seminar for Form 5 students. The seminar was organized by the Hong Kong Professionals and Senior Executives Association, and eight industry experts were invited to share industry development and trends with the students, assisting them in career planning.

Parent-Teacher Association held a special general meeting and parent seminar
Our school's Parent-Teacher Association held a special general meeting and parent seminar. After Principal Chan Nga Lai delivered her welcoming speech and PTA Chairman Mr. Li Man Yu reported on the work progress, Mr. Yung Sze Ching, a speaker from Hong Kong Quality Campaign, was invited to give a talk on "6A Character Education - Caring and Time Management". After the seminar, Class teachers distributed the second round of test result reports and share the learning and growth progress of the students, strengthening the collaboration between home and school.

Sha Tin District School STEAM Competition 2023
Our school, together with two other schools under the Education Bureau's Youth Group, organized the "Sha Tin District School STEAM Competition 2023". A total of 108 students from 17 primary and secondary schools in the district participated in the competition, which was divided into primary and secondary school categories, and conducted in four rounds in a team format. Ms. Tam Wai Ming, the Education Officer of the Education Bureau, Mr. Wang Yu Tai, the Principal of S.K.H. Tsang Shiu Tim Secondary School, Ms. Cheng Sze Sze, the Principal of SKH Holy Spirit Primary School, and our Principal, Chan Nga Lai, served as award presenters. Our school's students, including Lo Yeuk Nam and Wan Chun Yu from Class 1B, Ho Wang Yam Benny and Fung Tsz Shun Michelle from Class 2C, performed outstandingly in each round of the competition and were presented with the overall championship, which was met with enthusiastic applause.

75th Hong Kong Schools Music Festival
Our school's students participated in the 75th Hong Kong Schools Music Festival and achieved excellent results in multiple categories, including one 1st runner-up, one 2nd runner-up, two gold awards, seventeen silver awards, and twelve bronze awards.

Lunch meeting with students
Principal Chan Nga Lai and Vice-Principal Ho Lai Ping held a lunch meeting with two student representatives from each Form 1 class to strengthen communication and exchange between the school and students.
Life Education Class
During the Life Education class, our school arranged and invited external organizations and guests to hold diversified learning activities for students of different levels, including: career planning activities for Form 1 students, positive growth training program for Form 2 students, Civic Education class for Form 3 students, university admission workshop for Form 4 students, and elderlies service day for Form 5 students.

Understanding the Constitution and Basic Law: Walking with the Rule of Law
10 students from our school participated in the "Understanding the Constitution and Basic Law: Walking with the Rule of Law" Inter-School Quiz and Debate competition organized by Shine Tak Foundation and were awarded the Outstanding Performance Award.

Economic Infographics Challenge (2022/23)
Our F.4-F.6 students participated in the "Economic Infographics Challenge (2022/23)" organized by the Education Bureau. Among them, 39 students were awarded Certificates of Merit in recognition of their full understanding of economic infographics and sustainable economic development.

Lunch Meeting
Principal Chan Nga Lai and Vice-Principal Ho Lai Ping held lunch discussions with 2 student representatives from each class in F.2-F.5, representatives from the Students' Union and the officials of the four Houses, to strengthen communication and exchanges between the school and students.

"Virtually Versailles" guided tour organized by Hong Kong Heritage Museum
Ms. Chin Wung Ying, the Visual Arts Panel Head of our school led our Visual Arts students to participate in the "Virtually Versailles" guided tour organized by the Hong Kong Heritage Museum, allowing students to experience the charm and cultural heritage of the Palace of Versailles, and cultivate their artistic literacy and broaden their horizons.

KCCS Talent Show
At lunchtime, the school held the "KCCS Talent Show" in the Hall, including: dulcimer solo, saxophone solo, martial arts performances, K-pop dance performance, choral and solo singing, etc., providing opportunities for students to showcase their talents and enrich their all-round learning experiences, and boost their self-confidence.
"Joyful Fruit Month: School Fruit Promotion Project"
Our school participated in the "Happy "Fruit" Month: School Fruit Promotion Project" organized by the Department of Health, and distributed fruits to all teachers and students in the school to encourage the development of good eating habits and care for their physical and mental health.
Life Education Periods
In the Life Education Periods, the school arranged the third Project Learning activity for the F.1-F.3 students, and a sex education talk organized by the Family Planning Association of Hong Kong for the F.4-F.5 students, so as to enrich their other learning experiences.

Our students participated in the "MathConceptition 2023" hosted by MathConcept Education, and were awarded 3 Gold Awards, 2 Silver Awards, 4 Bronze Awards and the "Group Merit Award".

"Environmental Protection for Public Welfare" 2022/23: Charity Flower Sale Fundraising
Our school participated in the "Greening for the Chest 2022/2023" organized by the Community Chest of Hong Kong and co-organized by the Community Youth Club of the Education Bureau, and won a merit award. On this day, Principal Chan Nga Lai and Ms. Tang Lung Yin were invited to attend the 2022-23 Shatin District Annual Prize Presentation Ceremony of the Community Youth Club.
"The 59th Schools Dance Festival Winners' Performance cum Prize Presentation"
Vice-principal Chan Oi Chan and Ms. Lau Pui Fan led the members of the school's Dance Club to attend the "59th Schools Dance Festival Winners' Performance cum Prize Presentation". Our school was awarded four honourable mentions and won the team championship of the Chinese dance secondary school group for two consecutive years.

The Hong Kong Financial Literacy Championship 2023 - Young Financial Talent Runway
5C Yeung Sen Hei, 5C Poon Man Yan, 5C Tse Man Sum, 5D Fung Kai Ki and 5D Cheung Ue Ching Vinci participated in the " The Hong Kong Financial Literacy Championship 2023 - Young Financial Talent Runway" organized by Hong Kong Economic Journal, and were selected as one of the 10 finalists for their outstanding performance. Each team member will be paired with mentors and mentors, and will conduct financial case analysis and report in the finals to be held on July 8.

5A Tang Sui Tung received the Outstanding Award in the "Realizing Your Imagination" Creative Competition held by Henderson Land Group. She was invited to attend the Prize Presentation Ceremony held at H Queen's.
6C Lam Liang Wai and 6D Lee Ka Ming participated in the "Greater Bay Area Internship Program For DSE Graduates 2023" organized by the Hong Kong Arts and Culture Development Centre. They were invited to attend the joint launch ceremony and will intern at the China Energy Engineering Group Co. Ltd. and the Nanhai Industrial Development Investment Management Co. Ltd. in Foshan respectively.
